Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at nic@urbnrootz.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

UrbNrootZ offers a wide range of services including consulting, design, manufacturing, repair, & maintenance related to creating new & existing micro to small urban agriculture projects along with existing "living" or "green" walls that residential or commercial clients own and operate.

UrbNrootZ prides itself on its ability to deliver high-quality, customized solutions tailored to each client while also being the most innovative company in this niche industry. We also stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements to ensure our clients receive the most cutting-edge solutions that maximize their ROI goals along with sustainability goals and requirements.

 1. Is this "dirt" farming? Not exactly. While we use some high-quality compost-based systems, we specialize in Vertical Soil-less Agriculture. We utilize advanced hydroponics and aquaponics, which allow us to grow up to 10x more food per square foot than traditional soil farming by growing "up" instead of "out."

2. What are the benefits of your system over a regular garden?

  • 90% Less Water: Because our systems recirculate water, we use a fraction of what a traditional lawn or garden requires.
  • No Soil Disturbance: We don't dig up your yard. Our systems are modular and sit on top of the ground, preserving your land’s integrity.
  • Organic Nutrition: We use "Compost Tea" and aquaponic nutrients—natural, liquid fertilizers that provide plants with everything they need without synthetic chemicals.

3. Will the systems be loud? No. Our pumps are small, high-efficiency, and whisper-quiet—similar to a small pond filter. You likely won't even hear them running.

4. What about mosquitoes or standing water? Our systems are closed-loop and constantly moving. Since mosquitoes require stagnant water to breed, our aerated hydroponic and aquaponic setups actually prevent them from settling.
